How Arcade Ran a Marketplace for AI-Designed Products on Traide
About Arcade
Arcade let people design unique products with AI, for artisans to make. A shopper created a piece, and a maker crafted it.
The Challenge
Every Arcade product was made to order by a maker. Each order had to reach the right maker, each maker had to be paid for their work, and Arcade took its commission, while its design experience and checkout stayed entirely its own.
The Solution
From 2023 to 2026, Arcade’s marketplace ran on our platform, headless. Its own front end and checkout called our commerce API, with payments through Stripe. Each order was split to its maker as a seller order, Arcade’s commission was calculated on every order, and payouts to makers ran through Trolley.
The Impact
Its own experience, our commerce engine
Arcade designed every screen its shoppers saw. Orders, payments, makers and payouts ran on our API for three years.
Makers paid from one ledger
Every sale was recorded in the platform’s double-entry ledger, and each maker was paid its share through Trolley.
